What FC Barcelona needed
FC Barcelona contacted us with just one week of notice because it needed a castellers performance that could fit cleanly into the pre-match tribute to the DANA victims.
The requirement was not just artistic. The enxaneta, anthem, player entrance and flag formation all had to line up perfectly in front of 50,000 people and live television cameras, with no room for error.
How we designed the castellers performance at Estadi Montjuïc
We designed the performance around three visual points: two side pillars with flags to reinforce the solidarity message and one central five-person pillar as the visual climax of the tribute.
To make it work, we mobilised 100 castellers in just 2 days and focused rehearsals on timing, positioning and entrance order. A five-person pillar in the middle of a football pitch, built only with adults, demanded exceptional technical precision.
How the tribute was executed on the pitch
The timing landed perfectly. The pillars rose behind the players as the anthem echoed through the stadium, and the central five-person pillar peaked exactly at the planned protocol cue.
The crowd rose to its feet and burst into applause. The scene united sport, remembrance and Catalan culture in a single image that was easy to recognise and share.
Performance outcome and media impact
"It was truly moving, thank you so much."
FC Barcelona shared the performance on its social channels, and the sports media covered it widely. The tribute was recorded as one of the most emotional moments of the 2024-25 season.
This case shows that a castellers performance can work in major sports events when logistics, protocol and stadium timing are planned with the same level of precision as the construction itself.
- Distribution through FC Barcelona official channels.
- Sports media coverage as a standout match moment.
- Strong brand association with a high-impact cultural tribute.

How many castellers are needed for a high-impact performance like this?
It depends on the format. In this case we mobilised 100 castellers to combine two flag-bearing pillars with a central five-person pillar, an exceptional setup designed for a full stadium and live broadcast.
